Welcome to Tailify, Ruth!

Tell us about you & what drives you

I thrive in an evolving industry that’s constantly changing and requiring new ways of thinking, and the world of influencer marketing is just that! I studied Law at university and found myself increasingly drawn to advertising, much to the dismay of my tutors. At the time, influencer marketing was just emerging as a concept for brands to consider, and I couldn’t believe that my passion could materialise as a job. I started my journey after graduating and haven’t looked back since.

What is your biggest fear?

My phone battery being lower than 10%.

Why did you join Tailify?

The team are warm and encouraging, and the office has a really strong sense of community and teamwork. Tailify’s values of capitalising on everyone’s strengths to develop the business, as well as building on individual performance, really resonated with me. Combine this with the passion that everyone here has for influencer marketing, and you have yourself a winning formula!

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Reading four Harry Potter books in 12 hours. It was a great day.

If you could give your younger self 1 piece of advice, what would it be?

Do not cut your own fringe, it never turns out well.

If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, alive or dead, who would they be?

1. Markus Zusak- my favourite author.

2. Dolly Parton- I love her podcast and she’s got such interesting and funny stories to tell.

3. Elizabeth Holmes- she set up a company called Theranos and is now being investigated for multiple accounts of fraud, which she’s vehemently denying despite strong evidence suggesting the opposite. It would certainly be an interesting chat around the dinner table!

4. David Attenborough- no explanation necessary.

In the next 5 years, the biggest thing I want to achieve is…

I want to travel to 45 countries as I'm obsessed with learning about different cultures and exploring all of the experiences that the world can offer. I’m on 28 so still a bit to go!

How do you think your colleagues will describe you in one year?

Hard-working, always willing to help out, empathetic with a good sense of fun. Also consistently have a Diet Coke in my hand.

Who is your favourite influencer and how have they influenced you?

@hannahcrosskey- I love her style and her interiors are just dreamy!
