Tell us about you (What drives you)
People. I’ve worked in high engagement roles in the past and I always look for lessons and opportunities to develop from people’s stories and personal journeys. It’s important for me to be surrounded by creative individuals, who challenge my thinking and inspire me to grow as a professional and as a person.
Tell us a fun fact about you Strangely obsessed with sloths and I still sleep with a sloth stuffed animal. What is your biggest fear? My biggest fear is complacency. Failure is part of growth and development, but complacency is settling for mediocrity. P.S: I’m not fond of cockroaches either. Why did you join Tailify? It all started when I saw someone holding a Tailify tote bag on the underground. When I saw the logo and tagline, I was intrigued and wanted to learn more about their mission and story. A quick google search directed me to the blog, where I began to read about everyone’s journeys, their ambitions and the projects the team was working on. I was convinced that Tailify would be an energizing workplace, where I’d be able to evolve professionally but also be part of a family. Turns out I was right!
What is your proudest accomplishment? I’d like to think that my biggest accomplishment so far is deciding to leave Cyprus during the pandemic to move to London. It’s been a plan in the making for quite some time, so I’m happy I took the risk and it worked out for the best. If you could give your younger self 1 piece of advice, what would it be? Ask more questions; if you don’t ask you won’t learn. Don’t be afraid to fail; without failure, you won’t know success.
What is the single most valuable thing you’ve ever learned? You can achieve more than you think in 24 hours. It’s all about time-management. Ironic, given that my spirit animal is a sloth. If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, alive or dead, who would they be?
Angela Carter, Judith Butler, Noam Chomsky and Virginia Woolf. My secret passion is…/ guilty pleasure Dancing to Abba when no one is watching... In the next 5 years, the biggest thing I want to achieve is… Publish my writing and travel to Costa Rica to visit the sloth sanctuary. What is something most people don’t know about you? I love languages and decided to study Russian a few years ago, since my mum is also fluent. Unfortunately, I don’t remember much, apart from a few basic phrases. How do you think your colleagues will describe you in one year? Probably as the crazy Cypriot who talks about her dog way too much!
Who is your favourite influencer and how have they influenced you? Rupi Kaur. She’s inspired me to start working on my own writing and experimenting with sketching, and I’m fascinated by how well she’s used Instagram to make poetry more accessible and relatable to such a huge audience.
