Hi Cathy, what are you thinking about right now?
I’m thinking about a show I’m obsessed with on Netflix called ‘Selling Sunset’. It’s about a real estate brokerage in LA selling multimillion-dollar homes. The drama between the agents is so entertaining and the homes are incredible.
How did you end up at Tailify and why Finance?
I stumbled across Tailify on Linkedin. After a little research, my heart was set on working here. I was captivated by the work they were doing and could see Tailify was an exciting, creative and ambitious place to work. Finance is for me because I’ve always enjoyed the black and white nature of numbers. It’s technical, challenging and I learn something new every day!
What do you believe in today that you didn’t believe in before you started at Tailify?
That I’m capable of doing more than I thought. Tailify has empowered me to trust in my own capabilities and decisions.
What is the most common question people tend to ask when they find out you work in finance?
Believe it or not, I don’t get too many questions, but my closest friends are always surprised I work in finance as my mental maths is terrible! (That’s what calculators are for, am I right?)
What is your motto?
Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself - Rumi
How would you describe the Tailify team?
A bunch of talented, kind and beautiful people who live by the work-hard, play-hard ethos.
What is the main thing your Tailify Journey has taught you?
Think outside the box, stay curious and don’t be afraid to go against the norm.
What’s your biggest tip to stay motivated?
Sticking to a routine and ensuring I’m well rested so I’m in the best state of mind to tackle whatever comes my way. Never underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep :)
What characteristics are necessary to become a Tailifyer?
I think Tailify is great at embracing people’s differences and providing an environment where you can be yourself. However, a few characteristics we do all have in common are we don’t take ourselves too seriously, we’re driven, and we have a passion for learning.
Last question, If you were an influencer - what type of influencer would you be and why?
If I was an influencer, I’d love to travel to different parts of the world to learn and give people an insight into different cultures. The more we understand about the world and all the people in it, the more we can break down barriers, overcome ethnic and racial divisions and establish better ways of thinking.
